Gifts From The ♥~

It's Thanksgiving weekend and I got a great gift from the ♥ this week..Max's oeuvre d'art~

He's pre-school.. so generous.. and it has looked great in our dining room this week..

But I thought I would also use it as a special addition to a special meal..

After all it suited the occasion..

I had seen this wonderful dish at Pattie and Allie's..

Her stuffed acorn squash....Just go see.. Their blog has incredible recipes.. the energy is amazing ..and there's a lot of ♥ going on there:)

My photo is atrocious because it's pitch black here when it rains in October and Wednesday the day I made it..was such a day..

But it's delicious!

I did make a few teeny modifications piggy wise..I sautéed the onion ..garlic..chard etc in bacon..yes I did..and added some sherry to the concoction..

I loved this dish..Oh and my Panko..quite recent..had a very old scent to it when I opened the quickly I opted for bread crumbs..Shame on Panko.

It's that great colorful season to make the best use of all those colorful gifts of abundance and this recipe is one of them.

Thank you Pattie.. all the very best to you..and wise.. birthday wise.. happiness..etc..

We are celebrating Thanksgiving at our eldest daughter's home this year and I am very grateful~

PS The recipe is found in full at Pattie and Allie's Blog~ Enjoy it and many many others..

  1. if these are bad pics, heaven help the rest of us...

  2. What a sweet gift! I, too, saw the recipe from Patti and Allie and it looks delicious. Now, if I can just get my husband to peel the acorn squash!! Thanks for the heads up on panko. I have some in the pantry.

  3. Mais que c'est gentil. J'aime bien. Bon week-end!

  4. Bad, no, no. They are all magical. I often have to take pics in dark restaurants and windowless places. Your photos are always wonderful and the recipe is so fall-like. Thanks to you, Pattie and Allie.

Could Max's bag be any cuter? He's been watching Nana :-)

Happy Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful weekend!!

  5. Gorgeous Monique...what a lovely gift from your sweet boy!

Just a little tip...Panko goes rancid really easily, so I store it in the freezer...and it lasts a really long time. I have had the rancid Panko in the past and it only takes once to smell that smell...

I am going to try this recipe for sure!
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. There's a lot of ♥ going on here too :) Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Monique! What a precious gift from Max. I do love acorn squash almost as much as butternut. We are having a beautiful weekend here and I hope you will as well for your celebration.

Wonderful pictures for a dark, dreary day!

  7. A blessed Thanksgiving to you and your family Monique! What a wonderful gift! The squash looks good, but as I told Pattie, I am not peeling squash. I think the shell is pretty enough!! :)
Enjoy your family, I know you do!

  8. Oh, it is Thanksgiving already...US will come to halt... Great! I look forward to the few days when my boss in US will not bother me...:)

  9. What a sweet gift....I just love the little guys, they are so innocent and loving.
I saw this recipe, also...guess I will be making it sooner than later. Turkey Day is a great time!

  10. How blessed you are to have received such a charming gift...and to have created such a meal! Baked squash of all kind is among my very favorite foods. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe link...and your lovely photos with us.

  11. I've spent a good part of the day with your beautiful blog. I'm so glad I found it! It is truly inspiring! Thank you for sharing.

    All my best,

Oh, Max's pumpkin is precious ~ I remember making that same craft in kindergarten (and I won't tell you how many years ago THAT!)

I had to smile when I saw your gift. I taught first grade and we made these paper bag pumpkins every year. Some things stay constant and that's a good thing. ;-)
