Stand~ Stand By Me~

One of my favorite songs..One of my favorite standbys..For many many reasons.. Even the simplest foods~
Some foods can still be pretty because of their color~And taste~Or Form..

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh now now stand by me
Stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
And the mountains should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh stand by me
Stand by me, stand by me, stand by me-e, yeah

Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me, oh now now stand by me
Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me

Darlin', darlin', stand by me-e, stand by me
Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me

SO important to have someone to Stand By You~
I often make my soups the same way..My husband is a master at them~
THis one is one of our carrot soups..
Sauté onion ..some garlic..add you chopped veggies..cover w/ a fine stock..simmer until soft..Use the hand held blender and liquefy..Add cream or milk and adjust seasonings and taste..w/ either herbs..spices..maple syrup..etc..~
Enjoy~

  1. Simple and tasty. Sounds like a fabulous soup. My hubby loves hot soup. It's one of his favourite meals. I love the song Stand By Me, and I am like you, very blessed to have a stand by me man in my life. xxoo

  2. I once heard an "expert" say that soup had to follow a "formula"--that it couldn't just be off the top of one's head and be a great soup. I completely disagree. If you start with a fine stock--a little of this and a little of that turns into something wonderful!

    And, I love the lyrics.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  9. Love it....those types of smooth creamy soups remind me of my Mom. She makes them all the time. She prefers eating her veggies that way :) Sara is her biggest soup fan - loves all of them. Moms/Grandmas somehow know the way to our hearts...thank you for touching mine with your beautiful song, soup and flowers. If we weren't having a heat wave I'd be thinking of having soup.

  13. It is wonderful to have someone stand by you - that is for certain! Your post also reminds me of that Carol King song "You've Got a Friend".

    Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
    And I'll be there
    You've got a friend :)

Beautiful soup photos! I've never made carrot soup - I must try it.

Loved your comments as we traveled...always good to lay your head in your own sweet bed.
    Lavender cakes...oh my.
