J'aime bien~ Les Citrons~
I really like lemons~
I mentioned I had made Dorie Greenspan's sweet tart dough..the recipe is in Sunday's Valentine's Day post~It is beyond a doubt delicious..like a shortbread cookie crust..I could eat just the whole tart with nothing in it~
But..a friend came for dinner Saturday night so I filled it w/ liquid gold~
Lemon Curd ..microwave lemon curd I made a few days earlier and kept in the fridge~
I am so glad she likes lemons as much as we do..she told me she loved it~
I was happy.
I am sure I posted this quick and easy lemon filling before..I just can't find it~
La Recette~
Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 cup fresh lemon juice
3 lemons, zested
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Directions
In a microwave-safe bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until smooth. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest and butter. Cook in the microwave for one minute intervals, stirring after each minute until the mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Remove from the microwave, and pour into small sterile jars. Store for up to three weeks in the refrigerator.
One of the reasons I started la Table De Nana..was to keep my recipes in one place and organized..now it's like my recipe folders and drawers:(~

ReplyDeleteThat was me above because it posted "twice":) I did say "Once" In a Blue Moon:)
ReplyDeleteI've never had lemon curd, and I've always thought it was really difficult. This I can do. It won't be as pretty as yours, though!
ReplyDeletePretty! I love the striped lemon!
ReplyDeleteLiquid gold indeed! I am craving citrus--this will work! I wish I had it right now!
ReplyDeleteI just made some lemon curd-though I have never tried it in the microwave. I must do that! My recipes are EVERYWHERE!

Looks yummy delicious! You have the best recipes and kitchenware I've ever seen, Monique. (My daughter used to eat lemon curd right out of the jar and place it on homemade shortbread ;)

I love lemons, any day! Like Ninette, I loved that striped lemon ... how did you do it? I tried making lemon curd once. It was perfect on warm toast. :) Your jars, bowls and utensils ... they make anyone green with envy. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love lemons too! This is indeed a quick and easy recipe and beyond delicious.
ReplyDeleteYour photos never fail to inspire me! Completely beautiful . . . lemons have been looked so perfect.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos -- love anything lemon -- and love lemon curd!
ReplyDeleteI'm so disappointed to learn that your recipes are not so organized on the blog. I was hoping that a blog would help me to organize mine!
ReplyDeleteI love anything lemon, your tart looks fabulous.
Mimi
Moi aussi! J'adore les citrons! I don't have a microwave, though. I'll make this on the stovetop!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos...
Oh Monique, lemons are my favourite thing, amongst many favourites I hasten to add!! Your tart looks fabulous, and like the others I adore your bowl! xxoo
ReplyDeleteMonique, these are gorgeous! Beautiful photos. The zestiness of lemons is indeed universal otherwise- just look at the myriads of perfumes out there with the citrusy note! Lemons are great though I prefer green limes more. Pierre Herme has a really amazing Lemon curd recipe- you should really try that.
ReplyDeleteYour guests had to be on cloud 9 with this heavenly dessert! It makes my mouth pucker just to think of it. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI love how you skinned the lemon peel & left it looking like a little bee hive & match your gorgeous bowl...very clever! ;-)
I promise to try making your version of lemon curd next time. Thank you for sharing it.
fondly,
Rett
Only you can take Lemon Curd to such beautiful new heights! Gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, mon ami! Have a lovely day. Thank you for all that you do, and all that you have taught me. xoxo
Dear Rett you give me too much credit..it's a little notch on the side of peeler I have that does this to lemons..I can then add the twirls to the top of the desserts..Now that you mention it..I guess it could be a beehive..I hope you have more luck with this than my bread:)
ReplyDeleteI'll take a photo to show you the little tool next time~
Mimi..your recipe organizational skills mus be better than mine..They cannot be worse:)
Shirley I will look up the PH recipe..Thank you.
Have a great day~

Dianne
Tu as déjà vu des photos ?
ReplyDeleteBon, je vais travailler mais dès demain, je repasserai voir ce que j'ai loupé chez toi pendant mes vacances ! ;o)
Bisous
Hélène

Laura Jain was kidding..she's the Queen Of Lemons:)
Have a great day everyone~
When it comes to lemons, I'm a sour puss, in a good way.
ReplyDeleteI also like bees. Unfortunately, they seem to follow me everywhere I go. I'd much rather see them hovering over a pretty bowl such as yours, or on a lemon, instead of me.
oh where have I been!!!? I cant believe m number 44 on you comment list. :((
ReplyDeleteYes I love the striped lemon and I LOVE lemons esp lemonade n tarts!!beautiful!!
A day late but no less heart felt...
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET MONIQUE!!!!!

I've been reading your blog just lately and found you through 'wives with knives'. I absolutely love your recipes and your photos are so artistic, not to mention all the props that hold your food. I'm in love with that porcelain/ceramic collander next to your lemon curd (which I will try, it seems easy). I'm in Montreal, Quebec (Canada). Are your originally from here or France?
ReplyDeleteQuel blog magnifique, et quel plaisir de tester tes recettes, cette tarte au citron un délice. Bonne journée, à bientôt
