Soul Food 21~
"The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze."

I have so much garden work ahead of me for the sleep time..but it is all worth..the awakening time~
Just bear w/ me from Nov till May~
When my world..hibernates~
And then finally reawakens~
Thank you for appreciating even the smallest input~
It took my breath away....I love poetry...and sunflowers...and the view from the other side.

ReplyDeleteSunflowers and Monique. The perfect summer duo.
ReplyDeleteI'm always a little sad to see summer pass but fall has it's own rewards.
