L'Amour..toujours l'Amour~

With Valentine's Day right around the corner..

And with the boys visiting today for lunch..
Well,2 of the boys..the big boys..Lucas and Max..Noah was out with his mommy and Lucas and M's mommy..
I made them those li'l lollipop cookies this am before they arrived..

It's been bleak and rainy here..so I thought these might brighten the whole "Lunch at Nana and Grandad's" experience..

I never thought it would be Lulu that would add a sprinkle and more to my day..
Walking in saying:"Happy Vatines Day~"

With his handmade card:)

My fridge is starting to look like it did over 30 years ago..

You must admit.. he's got talent:)

So the cookies?
Kind of like the spinach leaves..seems the Sprinkles held the magic..

There is nothing I love looking at more when they are chosing their faves... than my 3 grandsons little pairs of hands...One pair getting more grown up....and lean.. and long..and very blessed with dexterity.. when we play "Operation" it is quite evident!!!The next..big hands for his little self and still full of dimples..soft and gentle on the piano and my indoor plants.. the last? Permanent wrist bracelets..w/ the fold of his skin where his arms meet his delectable hands.

All 3 have hands I will never forget:)

What's wrong with my baking these days?

I mean.. they're just not into them..
Apart from the sprinkles:)

So wishing you all fun preparations for Valentine's day...

I am out at Jojo's..on VDay..My childhood friend's..

But in case you want NEW ideas..

Here is a very humble take on one of Sol's great looking simply had to make little desserts I made for Noah's mommy last week..
Go to Sol's site..
It's a gift! A bday gift.. a Christmas gift..a Valentine's gift:)

I made Martha's little Molten cakes in see through teacups with whipped cream that I applied oh so quickly and topped with Sol's steamaccinos:)

M loved them..This recipe makes 2.

Serves 2

Ingredients: Cake

1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

cocoa powder, for dusting molds

2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate

1 large egg

1 large egg yolk

1/8 cup sugar

1 tsp all-purpose flower

Confectioners sugar, if desired for dusting finished cake

Ingredients: Whipped Cream

1 cup whipping cream

2 tbls sugar

Directions: Cake

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Butter the 2 - 4 ounce ramekins and lightly dust the inside of each with cocoa powder, tapping out excess. Heat butter and chocolate in heat proof bowl set over (but not touching) simmering water until chocolate is almost completely melted. Meanwhile, in the bowl of an electric mixer, whisk egg, egg yolk, and sugar until light and thick. Slowly add butter mixture to mixer, add flower and mix until combined. Divide batter between ramekins. Place on a baking sheet and transfer to oven. Cook for 7 - 10 minutes - sides should be set and center soft.

Direction: Whipped Cream

Take whipping cream and whip it using an electric mixer until firm and creating peaks. Add the sugar and beat again.

Serve whipped cream aside the warm cake - dust cake with confectioners sugar if desired.

I tempered the teacups first..Filled w/ water..in a cold oven gradually heating up to the required temp~
And I used my USA whipped cream in a can:)

Amitiés~

PS ..see the little crown on my mom's silver platter in the first photo?

  3. A wonderful post today, Monique. Grandchildren are one of life's greatest joys. So sweet and precious. Mine all went through the phase of eating only the frosting off a cupcake. They're better now, most of the time.

    Happy Valentine's Day

  6. Kathleen(Kate) ..consider it done..you can be my Cabbage Patch adopted big kid grandchild( A most pretty kind though:) )..Draw up the papers!

Kathleen they are so funny those kids.. A laugh a minute..Jacques said something he has said 3 times about Max already.. today:) I said..You've said that .. 3 times.. he said.."what else have I done since then?:)"

It really hasn't been more than 24 hours.

My hands are older gardener's hands now..I think I even have spots on them..(Ok.. I know I do..)and they are thin hands..not nice plump hands..I think that's why theirs looks even more perfect to me.

Thanks ..I had fun w/ them:)

  9. Oh those are hands to kiss a million times over...especially when they are chubby...I particularly like that spot on the back of the neck , just below the hairline... to kiss and nuzzle...where you can still smell that baby smell...the sweetest smell on earth...the scent of a baby's head nuzzled under your chin...
My 16 and 18 y/o boys do not like that kissing so much anymore...we are the same age Monique and I marvel at the fact that you are enjoying grandchildren now and get to be a young "Nana"....how wonderful for you!
    Time goes by so quickly....
