Came..last night.. 2 girlfriends..one old..one new.Nice nice match.Nice nice people.
I had decided to make cheesecake.. a girl at work spoiled us with hers at a broker's luncheon and she was nice enough to share her recipe..I have a cute ancedote..
Hers had raspberries atop w/ a raspberry coulis to drizzle on..I used blackberries yesterday w/ a blackberry/Cassis coulis..
I had just admired some pretty industrious fairies w/ blackberries in a dear book I have from one of my daughters..They gave me the idea to sub with blackberries:)
My anecdote? My co-worker emailed me the recipe.. and as I was mixing and mixing(NO KITCHEN AID was a must on her recipe)... I thought..my hand mixer will break..I kept questioning the recipe in my mind having made many cheesecakes..hers definitely did not have eggs..it is only my poor mixer's life in my hands that made me call her..she was so adorably apologetic..:) Oh yes 1 egg per package of cream cheese!!
Yay.. I went right back up and all was well..Good cake.. and the mixer lives..
By the way the Cassis I visited was picture perfect.A wonderful spot to stop if you land in Marseilles and are heading to Gordes~
I cannot think of the liqueur now without picturing the harbor.

I'm not sure which I love more, your beautiful cheesecake or the pretty boat photo. I'm glad you had a wonderful evening with friends.
ReplyDeleteCassis is a favorite here also but usually in a glass of white wine or champagne ;) What a great inspiration to use blackberries and cassis on the cheesecake.
